The Future We Deserve

Most of our elected officials no longer serve the people who put them in office. They’ve stopped acting like true public servants. Instead, too many answer to wealthy corporations that have turned basic human needs into profit-making ventures.

When the basics of dignity become for profit, humanity gets lost.

But there’s a better future within reach. A government that puts people first, ensuring everyone has access to essential services. A shorter workweek that frees up time for innovation and a better quality of life. Investment in education so the next generation can tackle the challenges ahead.

That future is possible — if we come together, focus on what unites us, and reject the efforts of the wealthy and powerful to keep us divided.

$10,000 Campaign Limit

Every year, we see another campaign spending record being broken. The Citizens United decision opened the door to an endless barrage of texts, calls, door-to-door visits, and advertisements. Both major parties receive millions of dollars and funnel these funds through media buys, consultants, and campaign staff. Neither has an incentive to create a fair, cost-controlled election process. Doing so would cut into their business model.

So why do we put up with it? We are only two election cycles away from electing a House ready to draft reform legislation, a Senate willing to pass it, and a large enough coalition to override any presidential veto. The challenge is not just to elect a single candidate, but to send enough like-minded representatives to Washington. People who will resist corporate influence and commit to reshaping our government.

I am capping my campaign spending at $10,000. Instead of pouring money into ads and consultants, I’m betting on something more powerful: people. If the message resonates, voters will share it in conversations while visiting with a neighbor, at work, or around the dinner table. Steady change from person to person, building trust and momentum without being drowned out by the influence of the elite few.
